What’s the skinny with rates and bookings?
As an independent studio, ishlab is committed to keeping rates as competitive as possible. We want to allow artists the opportunity to explore and create their sounds.

What kind of music does ishlab produce and record?
ishlab is fluent in all musical languages. From projects that refuse to sit inside any genre “box”, to those that unapologetically fit squarely inside.

Do you have the latest gear for my sound?
Indeed we do, and we know how to use it. Check the equipment list.

How long have you been in business?
ishlab was created in the year 2000.

Where are you located?
The infamous 10 Jay St. music building, in the heart of DUMBO. And naturally, we were first! Only we would set up in a former bomb factory without blinking an eye.

Transportation is easy: our studio is just a short walk from the F at York St., or the A/C/stop at High St, and a short drive from the Brooklyn or Manhattan bridges, and the BQE.

What’s the neighborhood like?
With unobstructed views of the East River, DUMBO has been attracting Brooklyn’s creative and business elite for close to a decade now. Musicians, graphic designers and artists converge with the yuppies, hipsters, and Wall Streeters in a surprising sort of hybrid harmony -- almost as unbelievable as a flying elephant (but our name means Down Under The Manhattan Bridge Overpass).

Can I lamp?
Yup. The couches are crazy comfortable.

Aw, we love you back. Unfortunately we don’t do mastering, but we work with and recommend our friends at The Lodge and Joe Lambert.
